Western Oregon Winds<\/h3>\n

The WOU wind ensemble is a large, auditioned ensemble that performs contemporary and standard literature for symphonic band, wind ensemble and wind symphony.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Audition Policy<\/h3>\n

  1. Chromatic scale for your normal playing range<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Concert F and Gb major scales two octaves<\/li>\n
  3. Approximately five minutes of any piece that shows off your playing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    OR <\/span><\/p>\n

    1. each of the WIBC audition selections for your instrument available at Bandworld<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Some simple sight reading or rhythm counting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
      \n
        \n
      1. Two octave chromatic scale<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Concert F and Gb major scales two octaves<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        OR (if you do not play mallets)<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Rudimental long roll, open\u00adclose\u00adopen and orchestral long roll <\/span>p<\/span>p \u2013 FF \u2013 pp<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Paradiddles, flam accents, flamacues and ratamacues open\u00adclose\u00adopen<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Approximately five minutes of any piece that shows off your playing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          OR<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. Each of the WIBC audition selections for your instrument available at Bandworld<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n

              1. All of \u201cDanny Boy\u201d in any key or register, sustained and lyrical, available in many ranges\/keys at Bandworld<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n
              2. Some simple sight reading or rhythm counting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                An audition may be submitted via audio or video recording (video is preferred). Audio or video files may be posted to YouTube, Dropbox, or other online location. Send link(s) via email to Dr. Ike Nail<\/a>.<\/p>\n
