“I\u2019m currently finishing my final year at Gonzaga University School of Law while completing a two-year clerkship at the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Washington. After graduation in May and taking the Bar Exam, I\u2019ll be moving to Olympia to clerk for Chief Justice Debra L. Stephens of the Washington Supreme Court.<\/p>\n“My time at ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ laid the foundation for this journey. Courses like Administrative Law, Legal Reasoning and Writing, and American Jurisprudence provided a strong conceptual roadmap for law school, and, together with the mentorship of professors like Dr. Mary Pettenger and Dr. Mark Henkels, helped me discover my interest in law, develop my critical thinking, research, and writing skills, and build the confidence to succeed.<\/p>\n

“I attended ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ to earn my Bachelor’s in Public Administration with a Concentration in HR. Prior to graduating in 2022, I served as ASWOU’s Judicial Administrator from January 2021-June 2022. I value the experience and friendships ASWOU provided me to this day. WOU’s PPA program also provided an on-campus internship in the University’s Human Resources Office and plenty of relevant classes taught by thoughtful and invested faculty. The PPA program did an excellent job in preparing me for the professional environments I would be working in following graduation. “I grew up in a small rural farm-working town that was predominantly Latino. I, along with many of my other classmates, were first in our families to go to college. “My PPA professors helped point me to the courses that aligned with my interests, offered helpful insight behind different career paths, and provided great experiences such as hearing from representatives at the Oregon State Capitol to the activists that helped save the Falls City Falls & Michael Harding Park. My professors also helped me make the most of the internships including working with the campaigns that spearheaded ballot initiatives for the freedom to marry in Oregon and California, fundraising for local and statewide progressive candidates, and coordinating a non-profit\u2019s lobby day in Washington, DC. My time in Monmouth served as the most important springboard for my move to Washington, DC, where I was able to receive a graduate degree in political communication from American University and interned in the office of U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and leading public affairs firms. “I\u2019m currently finishing my final year at Gonzaga University School of Law while completing a two-year clerkship at the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Washington. After graduation in May and taking the Bar Exam, I\u2019ll be moving to Olympia to clerk for Chief Justice Debra L. Stephens of the Washington Supreme Court.<\/p>\n“My time at ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ laid the foundation for this journey. “I attended ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ to earn my Bachelor’s in Public Administration with a Concentration in HR. Prior to graduating in 2022, I served as ASWOU’s Judicial Administrator from January 2021-June 2022. I value the experience and friendships ASWOU provided me to this day. WOU’s PPA program also provided an on-campus internship in the University’s Human Resources Office and plenty of relevant classes taught by thoughtful and invested faculty. The PPA program did an excellent job in preparing me for the professional environments I would be working in following graduation. “My PPA professors helped point me to the courses that aligned with my interests, offered helpful insight behind different career paths, and provided great experiences such as hearing from representatives at the Oregon State Capitol to the activists that helped save the Falls City Falls & Michael Harding Park. My professors also helped me make the most of the internships including working with the campaigns that spearheaded ballot initiatives for the freedom to marry in Oregon and California, fundraising for local and statewide progressive candidates, and coordinating a non-profit\u2019s lobby day in Washington, DC. My time in Monmouth served as the most important springboard for my move to Washington, DC, where I was able to receive a graduate degree in political communication from American University and interned in the office of U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and leading public affairs firms. “I\u2019m currently finishing my final year at Gonzaga University School of Law while completing a two-year clerkship at the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Washington. After graduation in May and taking the Bar Exam, I\u2019ll be moving to Olympia to clerk for Chief Justice Debra L. Stephens of the Washington Supreme Court.<\/p>\n“My time at ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ laid the foundation for this journey. Courses like Administrative Law, Legal Reasoning and Writing, and American Jurisprudence provided a strong conceptual roadmap for law school, and, together with the mentorship of professors like Dr. Mary Pettenger and Dr. Mark Henkels, helped me discover my interest in law, develop my critical thinking, research, and writing skills, and build the confidence to succeed.<\/p>\n

“I attended ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ to earn my Bachelor’s in Public Administration with a Concentration in HR. Prior to graduating in 2022, I served as ASWOU’s Judicial Administrator from January 2021-June 2022. I value the experience and friendships ASWOU provided me to this day. WOU’s PPA program also provided an on-campus internship in the University’s Human Resources Office and plenty of relevant classes taught by thoughtful and invested faculty. The PPA program did an excellent job in preparing me for the professional environments I would be working in following graduation. “My PPA professors helped point me to the courses that aligned with my interests, offered helpful insight behind different career paths, and provided great experiences such as hearing from representatives at the Oregon State Capitol to the activists that helped save the Falls City Falls & Michael Harding Park. My professors also helped me make the most of the internships including working with the campaigns that spearheaded ballot initiatives for the freedom to marry in Oregon and California, fundraising for local and statewide progressive candidates, and coordinating a non-profit\u2019s lobby day in Washington, DC. My time in Monmouth served as the most important springboard for my move to Washington, DC, where I was able to receive a graduate degree in political communication from American University and interned in the office of U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and leading public affairs firms. After graduation in May and taking the Bar Exam, I\u2019ll be moving to Olympia to clerk for Chief Justice Debra L. Stephens of the Washington Supreme Court.<\/p>\n“My time at ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ laid the foundation for this journey. “I attended ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ to earn my Bachelor’s in Public Administration with a Concentration in HR. Prior to graduating in 2022, I served as ASWOU’s Judicial Administrator from January 2021-June 2022. I value the experience and friendships ASWOU provided me to this day. WOU’s PPA program also provided an on-campus internship in the University’s Human Resources Office and plenty of relevant classes taught by thoughtful and invested faculty. The PPA program did an excellent job in preparing me for the professional environments I would be working in following graduation. “I grew up in a small rural farm-working town that was predominantly Latino. I, along with many of my other classmates, were first in our families to go to college. “My PPA professors helped point me to the courses that aligned with my interests, offered helpful insight behind different career paths, and provided great experiences such as hearing from representatives at the Oregon State Capitol to the activists that helped save the Falls City Falls & Michael Harding Park. My professors also helped me make the most of the internships including working with the campaigns that spearheaded ballot initiatives for the freedom to marry in Oregon and California, fundraising for local and statewide progressive candidates, and coordinating a non-profit\u2019s lobby day in Washington, DC. My time in Monmouth served as the most important springboard for my move to Washington, DC, where I was able to receive a graduate degree in political communication from American University and interned in the office of U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and leading public affairs firms. Prior to graduating in 2022, I served as ASWOU’s Judicial Administrator from January 2021-June 2022. I value the experience and friendships ASWOU provided me to this day. WOU’s PPA program also provided an on-campus internship in the University’s Human Resources Office and plenty of relevant classes taught by thoughtful and invested faculty. The PPA program did an excellent job in preparing me for the professional environments I would be working in following graduation.
