- The University Budget Advisory Committee (UBAC) will be an advisory group consisting of representation from faculty, classified staff, unclassified exempt staff, students and administrators. This body is advisory to the President and all members shall be appointed by the President based on recommendations from appropriate constituencies. The UBAC will make recommendations to the President prior to finalizing budget recommendations from the President to the Board of Trustees. Final funding recommendations are expected to have clear linkages to the University\u2019s Strategic Plan.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Following executive review, the University Budget Advisory Committee will review budget proposals and make recommendation to the President. The UBAC will consider the university\u2019s proposal in relation to the university\u2019s overall financial condition. Factors such as enrollment, tuition, financial aid, changes in state and federal legislation and policy will be important matters affecting final deliberations of the UBAC.<\/span><\/li>\n
- While committee members are drawn from various constituencies, they are expected to apply a university-wide perspective to the budget deliberations and recommendations. The committee will be chaired by the Vice President for Finance and Administration who will have no voting rights. The UBAC will have support from staff within Finance and Administration to complete its work. For example, Finance and Administration will maintain minutes and official records of final recommendations.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Voting members of the UBAC will serve two year terms. Initial appointments will be made to either one-year or two-year positions to allow for experience and continuity.<\/span><\/li>\n
- \u2022 Four faculty members recommended by the Faculty Senate Executive Committee<\/span>
<\/span>\u2022 Three classified staff members recommended by the Staff Senate Executive Committee<\/span>
<\/span>\u2022 Two students recommended by ASWOU\u2019s Executive Committee<\/span>
<\/span>\u2022 Two unclassified exempt staff members recommended by the Administrative Services Council<\/span>
<\/span>\u2022 One representative from each of the Vice Presidential divisions recommended by the respective Vice President: Academic Affairs, Finance and Administration, General Counsel and Administration, and Student Affairs<\/span>
<\/span>\u2022 One representative from Intercollegiate Athletics<\/span>
