According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/\">cnn.com<\/a>, it\u2019s possible that people are using it to help preoccupy themselves during this time of social distancing. As a result, minds are occupied and stomachs are full; for those who have been thinking of hopping on the bread-making train, here\u2019s a recipe to try at home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span>HOMEMADE BREAD<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Start to finish: 4 hours<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Servings: 2 loaves (16 slices each)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>1 package (\u00bc ounce) active dry yeast<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>2 \u00bc cups of warm water (110\u00b0 to 115\u00b0F)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>3 tablespoons and \u00bd teaspoon of sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>1 tablespoon salt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>2 tablespoons canola oil<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>6 \u00bc to 6 \u00be cups of bread flour<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-1024x498.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\" wp-image-15924 aligncenter\" width=\"530\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-1024x498.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-768x373.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-1536x747.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-2048x996.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/wou.edu\/westernhowl\/files\/2020\/05\/20200510_201543-1080x525.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and \u00bd teaspoon sugar in warm water. Let it stand until bubbles form on the surface. Whisk together the remaining 3 tablespoons of sugar, salt and 3 cups flour. Stir oil into yeast mixture. Pour into flour mixture and beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour, \u00bd cup at a time, to form a soft dough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Turn onto a floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, 8 to 10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, 1 \u00bd to 2 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and divide dough in half. Shape each into a loaf. Place in 2 greased 9&#215;5-inch loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, 1 to 1 \u00bd hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bake at 375\u00b0 F until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped or has reached an internal temperature of 200\u00b0F, 30 to 35 minutes.
