Her main research interest focuses on police use of technology and how the public perceives such activities, especially around surveillance. She had previously worked in projects involving police use of social networking sites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter), body-worn cameras, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Current interests are for in-depth exploration of: 1) how (i.e., police operational context); 2) where (i.e., location of surveillance), and 3) to what extent (i.e., the degree to which) the public is receptive to police using new technology, while considering the issues involving police-community relations and officer satisfaction.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”3_5,2_5″ make_equal=”on” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|tablet” module_class=” et_pb_row_fullwidth” _builder_version=”4.17.6″ background_color=”#FFFFFF” width=”100%” width_tablet=”100%” width_phone=”” width_last_edited=”on|desktop” max_width=”100%” max_width_tablet=”100%” max_width_phone=”” max_width_last_edited=”on|desktop” module_alignment=”center” custom_margin=”40px||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”0px|90px|0px|90px|false|false” custom_padding_tablet=”” custom_padding_phone=”” make_fullwidth=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.17.6″ background_enable_color=”off” background_image=”http://wou.edu/wrcjrc/files/2021/04/redBG.gif” parallax=”on” parallax_method=”off” custom_padding=”|||” border_width_all=”4px” border_color_all=”#000000″ box_shadow_style=”preset1″ global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.6″ text_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_3_font=”Shadows Into Light Two||||||||” header_3_text_align=”center” header_3_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_3_font_size=”30px” header_4_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_4_font_size=”24px” custom_margin=”5%||14px||false|false” text_text_shadow_style=”preset1″ inline_fonts=”Shadows Into Light Two” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Dr. Miyuki Arimoto

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Job Titles” _builder_version=”4.17.6″ custom_margin=”||-1px|||” custom_padding=”0%|5%|0%|5%|true|true” animation_style=”slide” animation_direction=”bottom” animation_duration=”750ms” animation_intensity_slide=”10%” border_color_top=”#239093″ border_color_right=”#c4c6c8″ border_color_bottom=”#c4c6c8″ border_color_left=”#c4c6c8″ global_colors_info=”{}”]

Associate Professor of Criminal Justice

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.6″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”-13px|10px|5px|20px|false|false” custom_padding=”||20px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Current Projects:

Researcher: Benton County Sherriff’s Pretrial Release Instrument Research Project

Available For:

Law Enforcement Research
Restorative Justice Research
Corrections Research
Research Consulting
Program Development and Evaluation

Dr. Arimoto is an Associate Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ and currently serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Restoration, Rehabilitation and Reentry.
