Shared Governance

ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ and its Board of Trustees are committed to shared governance. As outlined in the Board Resolution on Shared Governance, and by definition, shared governance is established to foster constructive and collaborative thought and actions within the institutional structure in service of the University’s mission and is comprised of the University President and duly-elected or appointed representatives of Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and the Associated Students of ÀÖ²¥ÊÓƵ (ASWOU). The shared governance leadership meets regularly to ensure open communication and to prompt discussion and consideration of matters of concern.

Each term, the shared governance leadership will host a campus-wide meeting to discuss topics that are of interest to our campus community and intersect our respective groups. To make these meetings more predictable and increase campus attendance, the Shared Governance Summits will take place on the second Friday of the second month of each term. Our hope is that these meetings will be a place for increased communication, transparency, and commitment to shared governance.Ìý
